According to statistics from China Semiconductor Industry Association, the sales of China's integrated circuit industry reached 433.55 billion yuan in 2016, a year-on-year increase of 20.1%. Among them, the design industry continued to maintain rapid growth, with sales of 164.43 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.1%; driven by the full production and expansion of domestic chip production lines, the manufacturing industry continued to grow rapidly in 2016, with a year-on-year increase of 25.1% and sales of 112.69 billion yuan. The sale of the packaging and testing industry was 156.43 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13%.

       According to customs statistics, in 2016, the import of integrated circuits was 342.55 billion pieces, an increase of 9.1% year-on-year; the import value was US$227.07 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 1.2%. The number of exported integrated circuits was 181.01 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 1%; the export value was US$61.38 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 11.1%.

       In order to promote the development of China's semiconductor industry, the China Semiconductor Industry Association also released the list of 2016 China's Top 10 IC Design Companies, 2016 China's Top 10 Semiconductor Manufacturing Companies, 2016 China's Top 10 Semiconductor Packaging and Testing Companies, and 2016 China Top 10 Semiconductor Power Device Companies, 2016 China Top 10 Semiconductor MEMS Companies, 2016 China Top 10 Semiconductor Materials Companies, 2016 China Top 5 Semiconductor Equipment Companies. The company classification is based on the main business, the sales of the Top 10 and Top 5 companies will not be announced for the time being.
